Hailing from the rolling hills of Southeastern Tennessee, Murphy Ridge is a vibrant 5-piece acoustic bluegrass string band renowned for their energetic performances, heartfelt storytelling, and harmonious family vocals. Led by songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Matt Heldman, the band features his brothers Sam (mandolin, vocals) and Timothy (upright bass), his wife Shelbi (cello, vocals), and three-time Alabama state champion dobro player Steven Smiley. In their short career, Murphy Ridge has already earned accolades such as Best Band in Maury County and has won prestigious competitions across Middle Tennessee. Their reputation has led them to share the stage with some of Nashville's finest up-and-coming bluegrass musicians. They are releasing the final singles from their highly anticipated bluegrass gospel album and working on an original string band album praised for its "promise of creative growth and musical evolution."
