Shantelle & The Juke Joint Band have been providing musical entertainment across the country since 1999. Shantelle Hudson-Black hails from Dyersburg, TN, where she began singing at an early age. The band consists of rhythm section, keys, and a (3) piece brass section. Shantelle moved to Nashville, TN, to attend Tennessee State University, where she was a cheerleader for two years. It was at TSU that Shantelle fell in love with blues. Shantelle became a member of the world renowned Jimmy Church Band, as Cinnamon, in 2001. She performed , simultaneously , with Juke Joint and Jimmy Church for 7 years. Shantelle continues to , periodically, gig with the great Jimmy Church, and he remains a great mentor. In 2009, Shantelle began touring with the great Tyrone ‘Super T’ Smith, The Tyrone Smith Revue. Shantelle continues to perform, simultaneously, with Shantelle & The Juke Joint Band, and other cover bands. Shantelle is an active member of several musical organizations, Musicians Aid Society, Nashville Roots & Blues Alliance, and The Blues Foundation, that aid in the continuing growth and support of blues music. She currently has her first blues single, “Haunting Me”, streaming on all platforms. This Princess of Blues, is just what the blues doctor recommends! My Blues Ain't Pretty!
